What is a heavy duty radiator?
Heavy duty radiator is a specialised cooling system designed to withstand the additional stress and wear that is common in off-road vehicles. It has an increased capacity for carrying the extra heat produced under intense conditions, while still providing efficient cooling performance. Heavy duty radiators are also thicker than regular radiators, giving them extra durability and strength.
How do heavy duty radiators work?
A 4x4 heavy duty radiator is designed to provide efficient cooling performance while bearing the stresses typical in off-road driving, such as higher temperatures generated by increased engine speed and inclines to lead to excessive fan operation. Heavy duty radiators also have thicker cores than regular radiators, providing them with additional durability to cope with challenging terrain and environmental conditions.
Additionally, some types of heavy duty radiators feature improved airflow for better cooling efficiency and optimized oil cooler systems for easier maintenance.
What are the advantages of heavy duty radiators?
The main advantages of 4x4 heavy duty radiators are their added strength and durability, allowing them to handle the extra stresses of off-road driving. Additionally, they offer improved airflow and efficient heat dissipation for more consistent engine performance. As a result, high-performance vehicles can be driven hard without having to worry about overheating.
